Have a question about Wishpoints? Here are the answers to the most common ones. If you can't find what you're looking for, write to us at hola@wishpoints.mx.
Getting started
What exactly is a wishpoint?
A wishpoint is a place pinned on your map — it can be one you dream of visiting, one you've already lived, or both. Restaurants, viewpoints, museums, streets, whatever you want to collect. It doesn't have to be part of a planned trip.
How do I save my first wishpoint?
There are two ways: search for a place using the map's search bar, or long-press anywhere on the map to create a wishpoint right there. Then you give it a name, a category and, if you like, photos and notes.
Your account
How do I change my name, country or profile photo?
In the app, go to your profile and tap "Edit profile". There you can update your display name, your country of residence and your avatar.
I forgot my password — what do I do?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot your password?" and enter your email. We'll send you a link to create a new one. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you don't use a password: just sign in again with that same method.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → "Delete my account". Deletion is immediate, permanent and irreversible: all your wishpoints, photos, notes and your passport are erased. If you have an active Premium subscription, you must cancel it first in the App Store or Google Play.
Wishpoints and passport
How do I mark a place as visited?
Open the wishpoint's detail view and switch its status from "Want to go" to "Visited". From there you can also add the date, photos, a note and the emotion the place left you with.
What is the digital passport?
It's your collection of countries. Every country where you've marked at least one place as visited becomes a stamp with a count of your places. Open each country's detail view to see the places you've visited, the ones you want to discover and your favorites.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Partially. You can view your saved wishpoints, browse your passport and create new places (they sync once you're back online). The map needs internet to load new areas.
Premium and payments
What's included in Premium?
Up to 10 photos per place, advanced stats, exporting your passport as an image to share, access to Travelyt Premium, and your support for the development of Wishpoints. The free plan keeps working with no time limit.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation is done through the store where you subscribed. On iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Wishpoints. On Android: Google Play → Payments and subscriptions → Wishpoints. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for, and no further charges are made.
I changed phones — how do I get my Premium back?
Sign in with the same account and use "Restore purchases" from the Premium screen or in Settings. Your active subscription will be recognized automatically.
Privacy and data
Who can see my wishpoints?
Only you, unless you choose to share a wishpoint through a public link. In that case, anyone with the link will see the name of the place, its category, city and country, its exact location, the first photo and your display name. Your personal notes, tags, emotions, the exact date of your visit and any additional photos are never shared. The link has no expiration date and stops working when you delete the wishpoint or your account.
How do I exercise my rights over my personal data?
You can access, rectify, cancel or object to the processing of your data. Many of these actions are available inside the app (profile, settings, delete account). For formal requests, write to us at hola@wishpoints.mx. See the Privacy Notice for full details.
